Paris, je t'aime

I have a lot of photos that I wanted to share on this blog, but somehow didn't. So, I said, "why not start with Paris!"
Blogumu ihmal etmenin bir yan etkisi olarak bilgisayarda paylaşmadığım bir sürü fotoğraf birikti. Bu eksikliği Paris'le başlayarak kapatmak istiyorum.

As I did my master's degree in Lille which is 1 hour away from Paris, I found the chance to visit it several times. But the best times I had in Paris was in February with my friends who came from Italy and in June with my mom. Especially the trip with mom was perfect, since instead of eating cheap sandwiches and walking on foot a lot, we did shop and wine and dine with her. Among all the things I love about Paris, here are my favorite places:

Malum yüksek lisansı Paris'in 1 saat uzağında yapınca, Paris'e gidip gidip geldim ben de fırsatları kaçırmadan. Ama asıl Şubat'ta İtalya'dan gelen arkadaşlarla yaptığım gezinti ve anneciğimle Haziran'da yaptığım az gezinti, çok kafe-restoranda oturma etkinliklerinden keyif aldım, malum hayat insanla güzel :) Paris'in benim için anlamları ise şunlar:

1. Notre-Dame de Paris

I confessed my love to Notre-Dame de Paris before in this post, for me it's the most beautiful building in Paris, and perhaps in the world. I have to go there every single time I visit Paris and every time I become mesmerized by its beauty. The last time I was there it was during a ceremony and my love for it became even stronger after it. Notre-Dame is really the most fascinating place for me.

Gider gider dururum, her gittiğimde ayrı bir severim. Bu gidişte bir de ayine rastgelince kendisine aşkım daha bir perçinlendi. Çok büyük aşk yaşıyoruz, çook...

2. Sacré-Coeur

Sacré-Coeur raises on the hills of Paris among old cobblestoned streets and small boutiques and for me it's the jewel of Paris. Maybe the Eiffel tower has the reputation, but Sacré-Coeur is the heart of Paris with its white embroidered façade and the gorgeous Paris view you can see from there. And oh the boutiques... They are all full of little marvels, but can easily leave you empty-handed.

Sacré-Coeur, Paris'in tepelerinde Montmartre'da küçük butikler ve arnavut kaldırımlı sokakların tepesinden yükselir ve bence Paris'in incisidir. Eiffel Kulesi'nin adı olsa da, Paris'in asıl simgesi olabilir, hatta olmalıdır. Her gittiğimde görmesem gözüm açık giderim, hele o Montmartre'daki butikler ölümcüldür, ayrıca cebinizi de boşaltabilir. En güzel Paris manzarası da buradan izlenir.

3. La Tour Eiffel

To tell you the truth I don't really love Eiffel, after all it's just a giant weird thing made of iron. I did take postcard-like photos there though (well, what to say I can be your typical tourist sometimes).

Açıkçası ben Eiffel'e çok bayılmıyorum, sonuçta demirden tuhaf bir şey, ama adettendir, kartpostallık birkaç fotoğraf çektim tabii yine de...

4. Père Lachaise

I wanted to go to the Père Lachaise cemetery for some time, so I took my friends there. The cemetery is enormous and filled with beautiful sculptures and mausoleums. The difference of Lachaise from other European cemeteries is the fact that almost every celebrity is buried there; Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Chopin... You name it, they have it :) My favorite tomb is the kissing grave of Oscar Wilde with a beautiful winged sculpture where everyone leaves a little kiss. It is definitely a must-see if you ever go to Paris.

Père Lachaise mezarlığına gitmek daha önce nasip olmamıştı, bu eksikliği de arkadaşlarla olan gezide giderdim. Mezarlık başlı başına bir şehir gibi ve tüm büyük Avrupa mezarlıkları gibi görkemli yapılar ve nefis heykeller görebileceğiniz bir mekan. Bir de ünlü tayfasının %90'sı burada yatıyor, Edith Piaf mı istersiniz, Jim Morrison mı, Yılmaz Güney mi? Herkes burada valla. Favori mezarım ise (öyle bir şey olabilirse eğer) Oscar Wilde'ın herkesin birer öpücük bıraktığı mezarı. Yolunuz Paris'e düşerse uzak falan demeyin muhakkak gidin.

6. Le reste

For me, Paris doesn't really mean Eiffel, Notre-Dame or Louvre, it means wine, food and shopping. I experienced two very different Paris, one with friends eating home-made sandwiches and going on foot everywhere and one with my mom going to fine restaurants and having lots of coffee and crepes stops :)
Paris denince aslında ne Eiffel, ne Notre-Dame, Paris demek şarap demek, yemek demek, alışveriş demek. Arkadaşlarla ya da kendi başıma gidince sandviç yiyip hiçbir şey alamayarak gezdiğim Paris'i, anneyle gezmek bir başka oldu tabii. Yarım saatte bir bir kafede oturduk, şaraplar krepler mamalar yendi, alışverişler yapıldı :)

These last two photos of from where I stayed with my mom in Paris. For people who are looking for an affordable yet nice and clean place in Paris, I strongly recommend Namdemun. It's a hostel, but as you can see, it has a private room (or better a private cabin!), breakfast and dinner included in the price and wonderful hosts. And as a bonus, they have this cutie named Kuggle.

Burası annemle kaldığımız odanın kapısı. Paris'te uygun fiyata, böcekli, fareli olmayan yer isteyenler için (Paris'in otelleri malum), Namdemun'u öneririm. Aslında hostel ama özel odası (hatta şekilde görüldüğü gibi özel kulübesi) var, sabah-akşam yemek var, herkes çok güleryüzlü, çok tatlılar. Biz çok memnun kaldık. Bir de köpekleri Kuggle var, o hepsinden tatlıydı :)
