Bu kadını maalesef geç keşfettim. Müziğine de, tarzına da, kliplerinin çoğunun stop motion olmasına da bayıldım. Tavsiye ediyorum, bir dinleyin!
Unfortunately I discovered this gorgeous lady very late. I fell in love with her music, her style and in fact that most of her videos are stop-motion. I highly recommend you to listen to her!

Okuduğum Kitaplar Listesi- 2010
Her sene okuduğum kitapları internette ifşa edip kendimi gaza getirmeye çalışıyorum, ama 3 yıldır hedefime ulaşamıyorum... Bu yıl hedef 50 kitaba indi, yeni girdiğim kitap klübünün de katkısıyla muzaffer olacağım ümidindeyim.
Every year, I try to motivate myself by putting the books I read list online, but I couldn't achieve my goals for three years... This year, the goal is decreased to 50 books in a year, I hope to achieve it this year, also with the help of the book club that I recently entered.

Karanlığın Yüreği (Joseph Conrad): Bu kitap hiç hesapta yoktu, sevgili psikopati sayesinde okudum. Okunası bir kitap!
Heart ofDarkness (Joseph Conrad): I didn't plan on reading this book, but read it thanks to the lovely psikopati. It's definitely a book everyone should read at least once int heir life!
Ziyan (Hakan Günday): Bu kitap da hesapta yoktu, illederoman'ın Şubat kitabı olarak okundu, çok sevildi. Yazısı bir kaç güne bu blogda!
Ve Durgun Akardı Don 1. Cilt (Mihail Şolohov): Bu da illederoman'ın üç aylık klasik kitabıydı. Ben sonradan dahil olmuş bir insan olarak, büyük bir hızla kendisini bitirmeye çalışıyorum. Başarılı olup olmayacağımı zaman gösterecek:))
And Quiet Flows the Don, Volume 1 (Mihail Sholohov): This is the book we're reading as the trimestral classical book in the book club. Only time will tell, if I can finish it on time or not...

I was thinking of making Fridays the 'Photography Fridays' for a long time, so here goes our first 'Photography Fridays'.
Bu yazı serime, en sevdiğim fotoğrafçılardan biri olan Lewis W. Hine (1874- 1940) 'ye başlamam tarihsel sıra açısından da, benim açımdan da doğru olur diye düşünüyorum. Beni bilen (ya da önceki yazıları takip eden) bir belgeselci adayı olarak, Amerika'da 1930'larda ortaya çıkan 'Sosyal Belgesel Fotoğrafı' akımının en sevdiğim akım olduğunu tahmin edebilirler. (Edemeyenler de header'ımdaki fotoğrafın Hine'nin oluşundan bir sonuç çıkarabilir.
I though starting the first-one of the 'Photography Fridays' with one of my favorite photographers Lewis W. Hine (1874-1940) is correct both for myself and for the chronological order. If you know me (or read previous posts), you'll know that my favorite photography movement is the Social Documentary movement that started in the 30's in the U.S.A.
Sosyal Belgesel Fotoğrafçılığı, asıl olarak FSA (Farm Security Administration) adlı örgütün parayla fotoğrafçı tutup güneydeki çiftçilerin fakirliklerini ve çalışma koşullarını belgelemek için kurulmuş bir oluşum olsa da, 1900'lü yılların başında, kendisi de bir süre fabrika işçisi olarak çalışan Hine'nin adını tam da koymadan benimsediği bir biçimdir. Hine'yi FSA fotoğrafçılarından (bkz. Dorothea Lange- ) farklı kılan özellik, onun fotoğrafın estetiğine gösterdiği özendir. Bazı sosyal fotoğrafçı çevrelerde, fotoğraflarını sahnelediği için eleştirilmesine rağmen, Hine'nin oluşturmaya çalıştığı şey, durumun gerçekliğini o yerin atmosferini vererek sağlamaktır.
The Social Documentary Photography initially started formed by the FSA (Farm Security Administration), by commissioning photographers to portray the poverty and living conditions of the Southern farmers. But the form and the roots of the movement was created in the beginning of 1990's by Hine who also worked as a factory worker. The difference between Hine and FSA photographers (such as Dorothea Lange) is the aesthetics of his photography. Although some photography environments criticized him for making mise-en-scenes in his photos,what he was trying to do is to give the reality of the situation by creating an atmosphere.
1900'lü yıllarda askerlerce korunan fabrikalara, İncil satıcısı, sigortacı gibi kılıklarda girmiş, ve daha sonra NCLC (National Child Labor Committee)'yle çalışıp Amerika'da çocuk işçilerin koşullarıyla ilgili kamuoyu yaratmayı başarmıştır.
In 1990's, he manage to enter to the factories guarded by soldiers pretending to be a Bible-salesman or an insurance agent and later worked with the NCLC (National Child Labor Commitee) to create an awareness to the issues rekated to child labor.

Ada müziğin Kadıköy'deki yeni yerine bayıldım. Rıhtımda, Seyhan Müzik'in yerine açılmış. Dvd stokları çok geniş ve festival filmleri diye ayrı bir bölüm yapmışlar ki aklım gitti...
